The Chamber raised just over $40,000 to launch the service and sustain its operation for the first three years. The funds were raised from several sources – a grant from both The State of New Hampshire and The City of Nashua, a sponsorship contribution from Hampshire First Bank, and a sponsorship contribution from Fairpoint Communications.
Two other private entities also played a vital role in making this initiative possible; Aboundi is a Nashua-based company that provided innovative equipment that allowed us to route the DSL internet signal through the electrical circuit of certain businesses that had agreed to host one of our 10 DSL lines, thereby minimizing challenges presented by old infrastructure underneath these downtown businesses. ActiveEdge is a Nashua-based marketing agency that designed and maintains the portal pages for this service, which you are reading right now.
